There is a passionate about fauna and vegetation, do not forget to visit The Columbretes Islands.
These Islands, halfway between the Balear Islands and the Península, are one of the most interesting options for a good excursion in Castellón. The "Columbretes" are presented as one of the island areas of greatest ecological interest in the Mediterranean. They are formed by a series of islets and reefs, all located on a depth of more than 80 meters and approximately 60 kilometers from the coast of Castellón.
The Columbretes archipelago is made up of four groups of volcanic islands where L’illa Grossa, La Foradada Island, La Ferrera Island and El Bergatín Island (Carallot) are the most important. However, it is only possible to visit Illa Grossa. The excursion begins in the stairs of the port of Illa Grossa and ends in the lighthouse, passing through the Visitor Center where it has an exhibition on human history and fishing in the surroundings of the Columbretes. During the journey, you can observe numerous endemic species birds and seabirds, lizards, insects and plants of the island flora.
